Astonishing Benefits Of Owning A Pet

Benefits Of Owning A Pet

Pradoxically, the whites own more pets than the blacks and the latter need them more than the former. That aforementioned statement is not in any way laced with conceited dogmatism. The statement was made based on the result of the research conducted by America College of Cardiology. They discovered the blacks are more likely to develop high blood pressure than the whites.

What connection or affiliation does high blood pressure have with owning a pet?

If that is the question coming up in your mind, it means you are yet to understand some of the astonishing benefits of having pets around you.

All pets, actually, can perform this wonder of reducing high blood pressure. It is nearly impossible to have Dogs, Cats, Birds, Lizards, Snakes around without playing with them.

When you spend quality time with them, some helpful hormones, likes of Oxytocin, Serotonin, Prolactin etc, are released into your bloodstream. These hormones help in reducing the pressure your blood exerts on the walls of your arteries, which are blood vessels that carry blood from your heart to all other parts of your body.

This movement of blood in your artery should flow smoothly and exert normal pressure of 120/80mmHg against the wall of the artery. Any pressure above that stated rate is abnormal and otherwise refer to as hypertension, which can be controlled. Unfortunately for most people, they do not like to check their blood pressure. Such people experience uncontrolled pressure which usually to stroke.

Amazingly, nearly half of all matured adult you will see have controlled high blood pressure. Giving everyone enough reason to own pets.

Although there are several means of preventing these negative health conditions, none of them is easier to engaging with pets.

You will find it very easy and exciting to play with Dogs and Cats than trying to avoid the intake of food which contains fats. Similarly, it is very easy and exciting to play with birds than trying to avoid excessive intake of salt.

As meagre as this friendly exercise is, experiments conducted by other health experts showed engaging with your pets reduces high blood pressure by 10%. Indeed, it pays to reduce the pressure of one’s blood so as to protect one's heart from possible damage.

Apart from high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol can also damage someone’s heart. Excitedly, just as you can lower your blood pressure by playing with your pets, so can you lower your blood cholesterol by doing the same thing. Don’t be carried away by the word 'high' in those health issues, cholesterol is not bad. Without it, it is very difficult to produce vitamin in the body.

The liver organ in the body uses the intake of it to make more cholesterol, thereby leading to the more production of vitamins which are essential for the body.

Everything in the body is needed for survival. But no matter how important a substance is, it is must always be available in the right amount, else it will do more harm than good.

The intake of Palm oil or coconut oil can increase the level of bad cholesterol in the body, thereby leading to cardiac arrest. It is worrisome to be encumbered with these health conditions when you consider owning a pet a tedious task.

Third, the sure-fire method of battling with loneliness is by owing pets. As caring as human beings are, you can’t guarantee their stay with you. Anyone who cares for you today can wake up tomorrow with a changed mind.

Why should your life be centered on the whims of circumstance created by human? Although it sounds absurd, nothing is guaranteed to take away loneliness like owing pets that live long. This is why it is better to own a cat, Snake or Tortoise than to get pets that do not live long.

Cats live longer than dogs. In fact, Tortoise live longer than their owners. That indeed is a good news as you are guaranteed of a lifetime partnership. But do not let the love for you pet drive you to spend extravagantly for them like some pet owners who reciprocate the love of their pets by showering them with unbelievable and mouth-watering birthday gifts.

Surprisingly, it is not only some certain type of food that cause debilitating diseases leading to damage of heart; loneliness alone is enough to bring about this kind of health issue. More so, loneliness can lead to serious depression which is also capable of taking the life of anyone.

Frequent physical or mental fatigue is also a sign you should pay attention to. That two signs reveal the level of your lonely state. At that point, you need to consider the right pet for you before the lonely state lead to a depressing one, which is often difficult to handle.

It is always very rare to see anyone in a depressed state when he or she has a pet in the house. In the same vein, it’s very difficult to come across a suicidal case involving a man or woman in the house full of pets.

If any pet owner tries to make an attempt on his or her life, he or she will be seriously disappointed by the intervention of the pet as they do all they can to keep putting smile on the face of their owners. Even neighbors who run into danger are usually catered for by pets that do not know them.

At any point in time they fail to succeed in trying to save anyone, they cry like humans. In fact, anyone who is hardened is likely to have his or her eyes laced with tears upon sighting a devastated dogs in its empathy state.

As loving as they are, they can kill other pets or human beings when the life of their owners are at stake. They are worth investing on. Their unbelievable astonishing benefits can’t be outlined in one blog post. Hope you’ve been convinced that Pets are worth more than frequent visits to hospital coupled daily medication.
