It will interest you to first know that a cat shedding it's hair is completely normal and theirs nothing to worry about when this happens, except it becomes excessive. Also there are cats that do not shed hairs.


Do All Cats Shed Hair?


Well, the simple answer is no, all cats do not shed hair, this is because some don't have any hairs at all while some are hypoallergenic. If you are allergic to cat shedding, then theirs a perfect for you, this is because cats are lovely pets to own.


Why Do Cats Shed?


For cats that shed, this is to remove old hair and give room for the growth of new hairs and by so doing the natural oil that helps improves their coat and skin is dispersed properly. Also cats usually shed when theirs a change of season.


During the Spring and Autumn seasons, cats shed their undercoat which have a relatively short lifecycle. Cats that are always indoors often shed the most hair as they are not exposed to the effect of changes in daylight naturally.


Stress can also induce excessive shedding in cats, this is often because most cats spends more time in grooming their selves, leading to missing hair or patches.

It is an averaged sized breed with very bright eyes. They are very affectionate, social and easily adapt to family lifestyle. They require grooming once a week.


Exotic shorthair

They are cats with very high affectionate behaviour and low exercise needs. Usually medium-sized and they develop strong affectionate behaviour with their owners.


Sphynx

This cat is known for its lack of fur. It is a highly affectionate and active companion. They usually have large lemon shaped eyes and their legs are medium in proportion to there body.


Korat

It is a shorthaird cat and is nicknamed "Goodluck cat". It has a heart shaped facial appearance, large moveable ears and lowbody fat.


Abyssinian

These cats are highly inquisitive and intensely intelligent. They are capable of soaring 6 feet in the air, making them very fast and agile cats. The enjoy the company of friendly dogs and great students for training.


Bengal

They are hybrid cats that wild looking and beautiful, with a size larger than that of domestic cats and a distinctive spotted coat.


Laperm

These cats are people-loving and social. The breed mutates naturally producing curly coats in both shorthaired and longhaired cats.


Pererbald

This cat is Russian bred with dog-like features. They are lovely, affectionate and very loyal family cat that develops deep bond with its owner and people that loves pets in general.


Ocicat

The ocicat is a very young breed with an exotic appearance that casts a lasting and immediate charm over people. They are muscula, medium-sized cats with spotted coats that comes in various colours.


Burmese

Is a domestic cat that is loving, highly social and playful. It is a medium sized cat that is round all-over with expressive gold eyes.


Japanese bobtail

This cat has both shorthair and longhair and their males are often bigger than females Asin most dog species. They have a lean body frame and are usually snicky.


Birdman

They are big bones cats, that have a long body frame and grow quite big. They are curious, friendly, affectionate and loving. As a result of their gender characteristics, they are often most suitable to be kept at home and they are also friendly with calm dogs.


Oriental shorthair

One unique thing about these cats is that, the have a unique coat that comes in a variation of over 300 rainbow colours. They tend to closely look like the Siamese cat in personality and agility and they are highly skilled jumpers.


Singapura

This specie of cat is touted to be the smallest domestic cat breed, they are highly energetic with big ears, wide eyes that comes in green, hazel or yellow and are very playful. Their head is rounded with a strong back outline.


How To Manage Shedding In Cats


Although it's impossible to prevent your cat from shedding, there are a few things you can do to minimize the shedding and keep your cats coat condition at the very best.


The proven method to help reduce shedding is to always groom your cat atleast twice a week. When you grrom your cat and pets always, you will be able to find out when the have wounds, helps remove life and ticks and also discover other skin conditions.
