First, healthy diet is essential for keeping pigs happy and healthy. They have a unique digestive system and require diets tailored to their individual nutritional needs and health status. 


High-quality, nutrient-dense feed should be provided, along with access to fresh water. Also, good quality hay, pasture grasses and non-starchy vegetables can provide additional nutrition but should be fed in moderation. Take note, commodity grains such as corn, wheat or barley are not recommended as the main dietary sources for pigs due to the risk of overfeeding these starches which can lead to health issues. 


So, offer them a variety of food and monitor their weight and behavior to help ensure you are meeting their dietary needs. In addition, in order to ensure your pigs stay healthy and happy, it is important to provide them with adequate exercise.


They are easily bored creatures so providing them with enough space for them to explore and roam around gives them physical stimulation. Exercise also helps a them maintain a healthy weight as well as overall muscle strength and cardiovascular health.
